Established in 1888

Sparta Cricket 1888 is a cricket club in the city of Capelle aan den IJssel, bordering Rotterdam on its east-side. The club is a branch of Sparta Rotterdam (football, rugby petanque, cricket) founded on April 1st 1888, as cricket club.

Sparta welcomes social cricketers in our 3rd and 4th grade, midweek XI and village side, as well as ambitious players who play in our premier eleven competing at top levels of Dutch club cricket. Since 2012 we play on our own Sportpark Bermweg where we have two cricket grounds, indoor nets and a modern pavilion. We welcome members and new (!) members in a warm family like environment to enjoy the 'King of Sports' together!
