Netherlands A wins T20 on Tuesday

A day earlier, Netherlands A defeated the MCC in the T20 format. The MCC reached 175/5 thanks in part to 56 runs from the opener with the poetic name La Fontaine-Jackson. Shariz Ahmad took 2-28. David Rushmere led the successful run chase with an unparalleled 97 of 57 balls, with fourteen fours and two sixes. The support act came from Shariz Ahmad (33 not out).

Netherlands A concludes UK tour with T20 win

The third and final match on Thursday was a T20. The MCC made a challenging 209/6 in the available twenty overs (Lavelle 96 off 56 balls). Ben Fletcher (2-37) and Shariz Ahmad (2-23) held their own brilliantly in the Dutch attack.

The same Shariz (74 off 38 balls with 11x4 and 3x6) led the run chase. Together with Michael Levitt (34), he brought the score to a promising 71/1/5.2. Subsequently, two smooth 40+ partnerships sealed the Orange victory with only three balls to go. Tom de Leede remained not out with 35 off eighteen balls.
