The Final Toss 2026: Women's Slotdag at HCC Groen-Geel – September 5th
The days leading up to the Final Toss were rainy and windy, so we expected a gloomy day ahead. But nothing could have been further from the truth. The blue skies fought through, eventually winning out over the dark grey clouds and harsh winds. With a bouncy castle, Criiio sets, an XL Connect 4, pink Fatboys scattered around the ground, a photographer capturing the best shots, and a fantastic crowd, the day was destined to be filled with laughter and true ‘gezelligheid’.
We kicked off with three highly entertaining T10 matches, with HCC Groen-Geel, Excelsior, and Rood & Wit all playing against each other. Between games, the players were treated to a masterclass clinic given by the Dutch XI ladies, followed by a lunch perfectly provided by SGS.
To warm our cricketing hearts before the main events, we scheduled one more match: a T10 featuring two teams packed with future talent. It was a thrilling showcase of excellent cricket.
Slowly, the finalists started arriving, and the countdown began for two highly anticipated finals. On the second pitch, the Hoofdklasse final featured VRA against Ajax. Over on the first pitch, The Hague All Stars faced off against Kampong for the Inspire Topklasse final.
VRA claimed the T20 Hoofdklasse championship, winning by 5 wickets as they chased down the required 78 runs in 17.1 overs.
The Inspire T20 Topklasse final was an absolute thriller, with Kampong reaching their target of 114 runs in 19.5 overs. Both teams showed immense skill and grit!
