- Celebrating Success: The Inaugural KNCB Cricket Festivals
We are thrilled to share the success of KNCB Cricket Festivals which were held on 15th June and on 23rd June. These events were exclusively designed for women and girl cricketers. The idea was to present cricket in a recreational format and to make it more accessible for the women and girl cricketers and cricket lovers out there. The days were filled with incredible energy and enthusiasm, making it a truly memorable occasion for everyone involved. The highlights were the friendly cricket matches in which twelve teams participated and the day concluding with dance, music, DJ and delicious food.
An Unforgettable Day
A huge thank you to all the participants and supporters who made this day unforgettable. With over 300 attendees, the festival was a resounding success, capturing the spirit of cricket in every moment. The talent on display was truly inspiring – we witnessed spectacular sixes and fours, as well as some amazing high catches that left everyone in awe.
A New Beginning for Many
One of the most exciting aspects of the festival was its role in introducing cricket to many women and girls for the first time. We successfully brought 130 new women/girl players into the cricket ecosystem, marking the beginning of their journey in this wonderful sport. The positive feedback we received from participants is incredibly encouraging and provides a further boost to our mission of increasing women and girl participation in cricket in The Netherlands.
Looking Ahead
The KNCB Cricket Festival was not just about playing the game; it was about fostering a sense of community and passion for cricket among women and girls. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by the participants have set a strong foundation for the future. As we reflect on the success of our very first Festivals, we are already looking forward to future events.
We are excited to see more women and girls take up the sport, showcasing their talents and contributing to the vibrant cricket community in The Netherlands.
Once again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and supported the KNCB Cricket Festival. Your passion and enthusiasm has made this event a landmark moment. Here's to many more successful festivals in the future!
