- Coaching structure taking shape
The KNCB is extremely pleased to announce that James Hilditch has extended his involvement with the national men’s team as assistant coach and analyst until the end of 2021.
Head coach Ryan Campbell: “Once we won the World Cup Qualifiers in Dubai, our number one priority was to get our Assistant Coach James Hilditch locked down into a multiyear agreement. He has been outstanding for Dutch cricket with his ability to help technically with our National Squad players as well as our youngsters coming through. His analysis of our opponents was also a leading factor in us winning the Qualifiers. I have no doubt he is a Head Coach in waiting."
Assistant coach Jimmy Hilditch said: “I feel extremely honoured to be able to continue to work in Dutch cricket at such an exciting time. With three years of guaranteed cricket on the horizon, it is a great time for the aspiring young cricketers within the Netherlands to look up to their fellow countrymen taking on the best in the world. We have an exciting group of players and I know that we will turn a few heads and cause some upsets along the way and I am just happy to be able to contribute to that. There is a lot of hard work being put in behind the scenes, and I am hoping this will continue to grow the strength of the game within the country.”
Addition Peter Borren to staff
Former Netherlands captain and ECB Level 3 coach, Peter Borren, has been added to the coaching staff. Besides coaching the Netherlands A team and U18’s, he will also be working with the players who have been selected for the KNCB Academy.
High Performance Manager Roland Lefebvre: “After all his years as a player and captain of the Netherlands team, we are very pleased to welcome Peter in a different roll within the KNCB. Peter will bring invaluable knowledge and experience to our most talented group of young players in the country."
Peter Borren said: “It's great to be involved. I hope my combination of a little knowledge and lots of energy can contribute to a successful time in what is a big year for Netherlands Cricket. I'm looking forward to working with Ryan and James to give the players every opportunity to succeed.”
Ryan Campbell said: “Our program is so busy now that it was vital that we added a third coach who could help develop our Dutch based youngsters. No one knows more of what it takes to be a Dutch international player than our former skipper Peter Borren. It’s been 2 years since his retirement and we felt the timing was perfect for all parties for him to return to the Dutch setup to help James and myself.
We will announce our international consultants very soon and I’m sure everyone will be very excited about these announcements.”
