- Dutch women beat Thailand in bizarre cricket thriller

In an incredibly exciting match, the Netherlands defeated Thailand on the very last ball. Silver Siegers and Isabel van der Woning became the heroines of the day: 109/5 - 110/9.
Thailand batted first after winning the toss. Iris Zwilling, who played a rock-solid tournament, surprised Suwanchonrathi in the first over and top batter Koncharoenkai in the third.
Boochatham and Chantam was the partnership to break. Who else but Zwilling cleaned the former with a beauty that just made the bail on middle and leg stump swirl down (10/3).
The fact that Thailand was at 31/3 after ten overs was the merit of a strong bowling and fielding Netherlands. Frédérique Overdijk (again) caught captain Chaiwai nicely at point.
Still, Thailand managed to get back into the game. With wickets in hand, they were able to accelerate to 109/5. Iris Zwilling excelling with 3-9 in her four overs. Heather Siegers took 2-18.
Netherlands innings
21/0/3 was a good start. The wicket of Sterre Kalis (14) meant 28/1/4. After ten overs, the Dutch were well on track with 63/2. 76/3/13 was also good enough(Robine Rijke 20). 78/4 was already trickier (Phebe Molkenboer 32).
Heather Siegers was dropped on the mid wicket boundary. A ball later, however, the long on fielder (Sutthiruang) was alert (84/6).
Frédérique Overdijk and Silver Siegers made it very exciting. In the final over, Silver Siegers and Isabel van der Woning had to make eight runs. They managed that with fantastic batting and running, with two runs off the last ball.
This put an end to a magnificent tour, which asked a lot of the mental resilience of the players. Nepal was defeated three times, Thailand was beaten once - in spectacular fashion.
