- Dutch women's cricket team to play T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, March 15, 2024 -- From April 19 to May 7, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier will be played in Abu Dhabi. The Netherlands qualified for this event by finishing in the top-2 in the European Qualifier together with Scotland in September 2023.
Ten teams will participate in the event in Abu Dhabi. Only the two finalists will qualify for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh in September and October 2024.
These ten countries will participate in the Global Qualifier: Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, United States, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, Zimbabwe
National women’s coach Neil MacRae comments: "We are excited about the opportunity to progress to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup through the Global Qualifier. We have a well-balanced squad full of attacking players which is working hard in preparation for the Global Qualifier tournament.”

From 2 to 14 March WCL2 matches
The Dutch men's team will play WCL2 matches (50 overs) in Namibia against Canada and the host country. The KNCB will report on this event on site and socials. These matches are important for qualification for the World Cup in 2027. Of the eight participating teams in this global league, four will advance to a Global Qualifier.
