- Monica Visser will be the new CEO of the KNCB
Monica Visser is appointed as the new CEO of the Royal Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB) from the middle of July 2022 onwards.
Monica (1965) is an experienced CEO who, for a period of nine years, has overseen innovations at the Royal Netherlands Rowing Board (KNRB) which resulted in overall growth and improvement in performance. Before that, she was director at Sportservice Flevoland. She succeeds interim director Richard de Winter.
As the CEO, Monica will spearhead the new direction which the KNCB has taken, to help grow the global sport of cricket in the Netherlands. In addition, the KNCB wants to further develop the performance side of the game. These are the two main ambitions which the recently appointed new KNCB Board have outspoken. The appointment of Monica shows the commitment of the KNCB towards innovation with a very experienced candidate and proven track record at the helm."Monica is a leader with a clear vision who, in cooperation with the clubs, wants to realize the necessary innovation which will put cricket on a higher platform in the Netherlands. With her competences and experience, Monica is the right person for the job", according to Guido Landheer, Chairman of the KNCB.
Under her leadership, rowing realized a 33% growth in participation and is now an organization with 40.000 members. This was realized through quality ‘branding’ of the sport and active investment in the development of relationships with the clubs through networking events. "A good relationship between the KNCB and the clubs is the cornerstone of success in any sport", says Monica.
Monica is an experienced candidate with a proven track record in the development of sport, connecting clubs and concretize commercial opportunities. The organization of various World Cup rowing events plus the fact that rowing is an Olympic sport, ensures that Monica has got a good level of experience in the international sporting world as well.
