- Thai women level Series
In the third and final One Day International (the second one was abandoned due to rain), the Netherlands could not match Monday's great achievement – a win over Thailand. Thailand posted what appeared to be a gettable 187, but the Dutch did not respond: 63 all out.
Fielding first and trying to restrict Thailand to a score of less than 200 were the applied tactics. Isabel van der Woning soon had success when Tippoch was caught behind. When Robine Rijke bowled Khoncharoenkai, the Netherlands were very much in the game.
However, Thai top batter Chantham was dropped in both the seventh and 22nd over. A pity for the Dutch, since the world number 29 could now once again continue to a half century. Her innings eventually came to an end after 64 runs when Iris Zwilling caught her at mid-off. Eva Lynch beautifully caught Chaiwai (31) in the covers, and newcomer Phebe Molkenboer turned out to be an asset with a wicket and two catches. Thailand could not accelerate and finished on 187/9/50. Eva Lynch took three wickets as Iris Zwilling (2-26), Caroline de Lange (1-34) and Robine Rijke also bowled economically.
Netherlands innings
Chasing 187 seemed very doable; 3.76 runs per over is not a big ask, provided one has wickets in hand. It was to the credit of the Thai women that things turned out differently. Only Iris Zwilling reached double figures; she batted well for 32. The Netherlands were all out for 63 in less than 28 overs; a bit of an anticlimax after the wonderful win on Monday. For Thailand, Kampchomphu took 3 for 2.
